Where is Asbestos commonly found?
Attic and Wall Insulation: Vermiculite loose-fill insulation often contains asbestos.
Pipes, Boilers, and Ducts: Asbestos paper, blankets, tape, or wraps were used for thermal insulation around hot water and steam pipes and heating systems.
Furnaces and Stoves: Gaskets on furnace doors and insulation around wood-burning stoves may contain asbestos paper or millboard.
What is asbestos?
Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that is fire-resistant and an excellent insulator. It was widely used in construction materials but has also been linked to serious health and safety risks without proper handling.
